Never Mess with Grandma I’ve somehow managed to plow through all 31 available volumes in this series. It’s been fun. I love the main character who reminds me on one of my best friends. I like the awful puns and the silly cast of characters. With work stress driving me crazy, I’m not up to serious reading right now and this series has been great brain candy.

Her adoptive family lives in the human world and her biological family who are all witches live in the supernatural world. Jill solves mysteries and crimes in her world with humans as well as in the supernatural world with witches and other supernatural‘s. She goes back-and-forth between both worlds and even on occasion goes into the spirit world to deal with ghosts. She’s married to a policeman and has a quirky supernatural family including her grandmother and aunt and two cousins as well as the ghost of her parents who live in ghost town which is part of the spirit world. It is a unique and entertaining jump between the three different worlds but always entertaining and fun. It is also funny how the character has occasional interactions with the reader with snarky comments and reports. It is highly entertaining and a fun read. Check it out

Things get crazy for Jill Jill's life is tinkering along, she gets a couple new cases, one a little odd. Winky is up to all sorts again. Grandma goes quiet for a few days worrying the family. The incident with her grandmother is a big part of the story but too good to reveal. Jill meets tooth fairies, rainbow fairies, an elf and a talking post box. Ten Pin Con is around the corner. They end on the convention. Again it was too much fun to read, so revealing the details would be unfair. It was a very enjoyable read with some of the wit and humour of the early books. Can't wait for the next one.

Because I have always avoided giving spoilers, my previous reviews have been very generic. So, why change now. I love this series and inventiveness of the author, Adele Abbott. She is amazing in the schemes that Winky come up with and the many places her grandmother opens. However, I keep waiting for Jill to take the bull by the horns and ask Grandma to teach her all the secrets she knows, since they keep popping up without notice. Keep it all coming. Thanks.

Brilliant as always Where does Ms. Abbott come up with these ideas? This highly imaginative book was very entertaining. I love the various fairies and we even get to meet a gremlin in this one. I also love the various sticky situations Jill gets herself into, especially the one at the end. Jill had some good mysteries to solve in this book as well. Jack gets a wonderful surprise, too.

Mystery of the vanished biscuits What's a Witch to do when the biscuits disappear? Not culprit in sight! Fairies elves and magic make for great tales. Poor Me Nosey was having a scrappy day of it. Grandma got Jill's number and so Jill was see for her true self set behind the ears. Still the same juvenile sense of humor and ethics in her personal life, but I love het sense of justice in her professional life. To her credit, she's determined to see bad people get justice, but when it's a situation of bad judgment or unintended consequences and proper remorse, she gives the best help she can. THAT is what I like about Jill. Still the same juvenile sense of humor and ethics in her personal life, but I love het sense of justice in her professional life. Very funny I love this series and it gives me a chance to brush up on my British English. I love how she uses the language in the names of her characters. Always a good mystery or two also.

Bowled over. One of the best episodes yet. This time Jill finally starts using her magic more which makes a lot of sense. While working hard in both worlds, it would be nice if she could get paid for what she does 🤣.

Ends with a splash I love this series! You don't hear much from grandma, but Jill sure has a lot going on. Her cases are unique. Solving them takes awhile this time. Winky of course is always up to no good. ;) Ends with a splash I love this series! You don't hear much from grandma, but Jill sure has a lot going on. Her cases are unique. Review Dry humor, quirky characters, so imaginative. Grandma is in a coma. Winky has a boxing match. There's an elf living in a tuba. And of course, Jill catches the murderers. Such fun! This is still a silly little series, but it's definitely improved from the recent installments. This is still a silly little series, but it's definitely improved from the recent installments.

Jill does it again I really like Jill. I sometimes get frustrated because she doesn't use her magic more often. Grandma is a hoot. Jill does it again I really like Jill. I sometimes get frustrated because she doesn't use her magic more often. Grandma is a hoot.

This series is a hoot and a great fun escape. It is sort of a grown-up Harry Potter meets Stephenie Plum.

Another Winner! I really enjoy this series! In this book, Jill Maxwell is at it again; she's taken on some very odd cases - will she be able to get solve them? Her dog Barry has his own art exhibit in the human world, not to mention her pet tortoise now has a collection of his poems published and entered into competition - how will that end??? Adele Abbotts' imagination and snarky humor really makes this a great read! Another Winner! I really enjoy this series!
